Together for the Black Forest – We set an example for sustainability with successful tree planting campaign

Last Saturday, April 15, we held an impressive tree planting event in the Black Forest.

Together with committed employees and the founders of the ENTECCO sustainability association, which is currently in the process of being established, we planted a proud 2,100 trees, thus making an important contribution to reforestation and climate protection. Our action took place on an area of 3,500 m² (about 0.3 hectares) on the Mühlenbacher Flachenberg, which had previously been left tree-free due to beetle infestation. 🌳

Planting action in the Black Forest

For reforestation, we planted 1,500 silver firs and 600 Douglas firs. This commitment is part of our sustainability initiative and underscores our commitment to environmental protection as a company.

For our tree planting campaign, 15 people came together to plant the trees in rows, each two meters apart, together with Managing Director Marianne Sommer and property owner Johannes Schmider. Tree species were selected in consultation with the responsible district manager, as deciduous trees were considered unsuitable for the wet site.

The 2,100 young trees were sponsored by ENTECCOgroup and planted by Saturday afternoon. In addition, the plants were provided with browsing protection, resulting in costs of about 3,000 euros.

This action has brought us closer together as a team and made it clear what we can achieve together. We are proud to have contributed to the reforestation of the Black Forest and look forward to future projects and initiatives.

Our thanks go to all participants for their commitment and support as well as the culinary catering, especially Ortwin Grottendorfer, Helmut Kurz, owner Johannes Schmider and managing director Marianne Sommer. Without their commitment, this action would not have been possible.

Further sustainability initiatives are planned

Future sustainability activities include participating in and sponsoring the Black Forest Hackathon, planting trees and a wildflower meadow on the company’s grounds in Lahr, and acquiring its own bee colonies. Employees from the subsidiaries in Austria, Poland, the USA and India will also initiate local sustainable projects.

Together we can make a positive change and make the world a little bit greener!
