Project details

Delivery of a turnkey large-part painting booth with partitioning, segment ventilation and integrated indoor crane for the preparation, coating and drying of track-laying machines and their components incl. Submission of the approval documents for submission to the authorities.

Components

Complete cabin made of sandwich elements, blow-in filter ceilings, extraction and filtering equipment, ventilation units with heat recovery and frequency converters, LED lighting units, automatically driven doors, integrated hall crane, control technology PLC, zone switching and automatic employee detection.

Operating principle

Automatic rolling gates will be installed at the entrances, exits and passages. The cabin is basically divisible into three sections: 24m/8m/8m. Ventilation is provided by a zone circuit of 5 zones. The main zone is ventilated at 52,000m³/h and the two secondary zones at 10,000m³/h each. To operate two parts (e.g. 24m and 16m) completely separately 2 air handling units are installed. When using the complete cabin, both can also be used together. Zone switching is performed automatically by optical sensors.

For optimal lighting, lights are mounted at regular intervals on the ceiling. In addition, lights are installed in the cabin walls in the painting area.
Through the grates the exhaust air from the cabin is sucked into the basement area. A center lane remains to take the load over the rails. Under the grids, there is an extraction channel with a height of 500mm on the right and left side respectively. Two filter stages are inserted into it. This makes it easy to change the filters. External ducts are insulated. In front of the heat exchanger there is another safety filter. The ventilation unit in modular design for air preparation in horizontal design, with completely dismountable housing structure is located directly next to the booth. Inside it there is an energy recovery system by means of rotary heat exchanger. The fresh air is drawn in by the respective ventilation unit in the required quantity and preheated by the heat exchanger. When needed, the air is heated to the desired temperature by a hot water heating coil (base demand) and gas surface burners (peak load). The entry into the paint booth is homogeneous through the filter ceiling. By means of a programmable logic controller and by means of selector switches it is possible to choose between the different operating modes. The temperatures are adjustable and monitored by sensors.
