At Componenta Castings Oy in Finland, GARANT Filter GmbH has comprehensively modernized the ageing sand processing filter system. The aim was to increase performance, lower energy consumption and reduce maintenance costs – while reusing existing plant components as far as possible.
Our engineers carried out comprehensive pre-engineering even before the project began. The current situation was recorded directly on site and digitally documented using precise 3D measurements. On this basis, a modernization concept was developed that specifically replaced only the necessary components and was also precisely tailored to the limited space available.
Technical highlights of the modernization:
- Modern flat bag filter system: A new filter centerpiece with proven GARANT flat bag technology reduces pressure losses, extends service life and significantly improves separation performance.
- Optimized raw gas inlet: Flow-optimized baffle plates ensure an even and efficient distribution of the air flow in the filter.
- Energy-efficient clean gas routing: The clean gas routing has been redesigned in terms of flow technology to prevent deposits and increase the efficiency of the overall system.
- Intelligent pipe engineering: The new raw gas pipe mixes air flows optimally, increases the temperature and prevents the temperature from falling below the dew point.
Sustainability through reuse
Existing, still intact components such as the dust pan, trough screw conveyor and dust discharge were retained and integrated into the new design This conserves resources, reduces the use of materials and underlines our holistic approach to sustainable solutions.
